Despite gold natural yellow color, a retail jeweler can produce white, rose, green and even two toned gold. These colors can be created by mixing pure 24K gold with other metals, like copper, silver, zinc and nickel.
Rose gold falls in the range of pink to red. It is a subtle and delicate color, which will intensify with age. The amount of gold will not change with these colors because the alloy will replace the silver colored alloys. It is created by mixing pure gold with a high percentage of copper. The copper will tarnish, creating an attractive rose color.
White gold has become one of the most desired colors of gold. It comes from mixing silver-colored alloys (nickel is the most common) together. The copper-colored alloys will be decreased.
Green gold is a slightly tinted gold. It derives from mixing pure gold with pure silver. Sometimes, hard metals like zinc and nickel are mixed for rings. The green color, like rose, is subtle only being present when compare to other colored gold.
